Tell us STULZ’ business origin story.
Air Technology Systems first began operations in Frederick, MD over 45 years ago and became STULZ Air Technology Systems over 20 years ago after being acquired by the STULZ family out of Hamburg, Germany. STULZ Air Technology primarily services the data center industry where there has been a growing need for over 45 years as we further move into a robust digital age.
We design, manufacture, test, deliver and support products and solutions for mission critical applications, from STULZ’ headquarters in Frederick, Maryland, as well as our second manufacturing facility in Dayton, Tennessee.
What do you like most about being a business in Frederick?
The location is convenient to multiple airports, major highways, waterways and railroads. It is a prime location! The business community in Frederick has been supportive and collaborative throughout the years and many of our employees are lifelong Frederick residents.
Why did you join the Chamber?
To further connect with the local business community and to utilize the shared resources that the Chamber provides. Within a few days of our new member orientation we already contacted CQI associates to work with them regarding energy audits and cooperative buying agreements. Their contact info came right in the new hire folder!
How has being a member of the Chamber benefited your business?
We’ve made connections that have assisted in hiring and internal cost savings.
What do you want STULZ to be known for?
Opportunity and USA manufacturing at its best. We have so many employees who have been here for decades and have moved from entry level positions into senior management. We provide training and opportunity for any employee who is seeking it!
We are a start to finish USA manufacturing facility with a full Engineering staff onsite. We handle design to production to delivery and set up of equipment all throughout North America. We are proud to also meet the Buy American Act!
Share some of your community involvement efforts.
We support the Weinberg Center, sponsor an American Little League Team, Centro Hispano, SHIP and have employees who are members of the Carroll Creek Rotary Club.
