A conversation with Cameron Harris, Co-Owner
Tell us your business or organization origin story.
Our two co-owners met at a Chamber of Commerce event in 2023. They hit it off and quickly decided to combine their individual freelance video ventures into something larger than the sum of its parts. That became Purple Donut Studios.
What do you like most about being a business or organization located in Frederick County?
We love working with other businesses in Frederick. The community here is something you can’t find anywhere else, and helping people here tell their stories is what keeps us going.
What makes your business or organization unique?
We have a background in cinema and broadcast-quality work. Our goal is to take that premium production quality and make it accessible to businesses that have great stories to tell.
What do you want your business or organization to be known for?
We want to be known for the quality and creativity of our work, and the unique ideas we bring to our clients’ campaigns.
Share some of your community involvement efforts.
We donate and discount work we do with nonprofits, partner with local schools to promote the arts in education, and volunteer with local causes whenever we can.
What do you do best?
Some of the work we’re most proud of is our commercial work, where we can stretch our creative muscles. A great example is an ad we filmed for Straight Shot Training that was inspired by 1990s action movies.
Is there anything else exciting about your business that you want Chamber members to know about?
As the studio grows and evolves, we’re planning to host meetups for other people in the creative fields around Frederick.
