Meet Rehab 2 Perform

Rehab 2 Perform is a fitness-focused approach to health care that supports all individuals in their journey to perform for life. They offer Physical Therapy, Sports Rehab, Concussion Care and Wellness Services. 

A Conversation with Owner, Josh Funk.

Tell us Rehab 2 Perform’s business origin story. 

The idea for Rehab 2 Perform started when I was playing lacrosse for Ohio State. I hurt my shoulder and was told I would need surgery at the end of the season. This was my first experience with physical therapy, and I did not know how fortunate I was to be able to rehab in a Division 1 Athletics environment, until I came home, and experienced how cookie-cutter, stale, and disconnected that physical therapy (and much of health care) for the mainstream population was. I knew I had to come up with a commercialized version of D1 Athletics Rehab and this is where the idea of R2P was born. 

R2P started in December 2014 at the Frederick Indoor Sports Center! We were in a 1,200 square foot space in between the turf fields before eventually outgrowing the space and moving to our current space on Hughes Ford Rd in July 2016. Since then, we have added 6 locations in Maryland, and one in Virginia. 

What do you like most about being a business owner in Frederick?

The community. We would not be here without tremendous support from numerous people and organizations within the community. Frederick truly is a great place for entrepreneurs to make their dreams become a reality. 

What makes Rehab 2 Perform unique?

A group of jock docs that operate in what looks like more of a gym, instead of a traditional medical facility.

Fitness-focused approach to health care that provides people with personalized plans & processes to perform in the ways that matter to them. Regardless of your physical ability, or your age, we come up with the right fit for you!

What does Rehab 2 Perform do best?

Health care is no longer a Grudge Purchase with R2P. Instead, we have created a “Get To” environment where people feel genuinely listened to, and have personalized plans & processes to aid them in their recovery. 

Do you have any exciting upcoming events that you’d like the Chamber membership to know about? 

We will be doing a grand re-opening soon of our newly renovated and expanded 9,000 square foot space, with new areas for concussion care and peri-partum physical therapy. We hope to schedule this in November or December!
