ArachnidWorks is a full-service marketing agency in the heart of downtown Frederick. We do the whole mix: branding, website design and development, SEO, paid media, email, social, content, video, and print. But what we really do is connect the dots through The AW Method, our approach to building marketing that actually works. We start by getting to know your business and your industry inside and out, then we plan and launch with intention. From there, we keep a close eye on how everything is performing and calibrate as we go, leaning into what’s working and adjusting what isn’t. Marketing isn’t “set it and forget it” for us. It’s a living strategy we keep fine-tuning until the results show up.

Tell us your business origin story!
We started back in 1998 as a small branding and website design shop, and we grew the way good things tend to grow: one happy client at a time. As the work spread around the region, we formally incorporated in 2008 and began building out the team and capabilities that you see today. That team is a group of experts who push the standards of our industry, bringing everything we know to the table to build smarter, sharper marketing campaigns for the businesses we partner with. And we get to do it from a building with a story of its own: a historic spot in downtown Frederick along Carroll Creek with roots going back to the mid-1800s.
What do you like most about being located in Frederick County?
Frederick is the kind of place where business is personal. The companies we work with aren’t just clients, they’re our neighbors. We see them at the farmers market, at Rotary, at a ribbon-cutting downtown. We believe in what these businesses bring to our community, and there’s nothing better than helping a neighbor we genuinely root for tell their story and grow. That’s a privilege you really only get in a place like Frederick, and getting to do it right on Carroll Creek doesn’t hurt either.
What makes ArachnidWorks unique?
When you work with us, you get a whole team in your corner, not a single freelancer wearing too many hats or a giant agency where you’re just an account number. Our creative, strategic, and technical experts work side by side, which means your branding, your website, your ads, and your content are all built to pull in the same direction. We treat every budget like it’s our own, because as a small business ourselves, we know exactly how much every dollar matters. And because we’re a tight-knit shop, you’re working with people who actually know your name and your goals, not a rotating cast of account reps.
What do you wish people knew about ArachnidWorks and what do you want to be known for?
We wish more people knew that marketing doesn’t have to mean spending more than the big guys to compete with them. So much marketing money gets wasted on noise. What we want to be known for is the opposite: smart, intentional strategy that actually connects. We’d rather help a business find the angle nobody else is using than convince them to outspend a competitor.
Share some of your community involvement efforts!
At the end of the day, we just want to see Frederick win, so we volunteer whenever we have the opportunity. Our team has been proud to support organizations like the Frederick Rescue Mission, Carroll Creek Rotary, and the Downtown Frederick Partnership, both by showing up and by putting our actual craft to work. When Frederick succeeds, we all do.
What do you do best?
Here’s the scenario we see all the time: a small business owner who knows they should be marketing, invests in it, and then watches it just… not connect. That’s where we shine. We dig into your industry, figure out what you genuinely do better than anyone else, and build a strategy around that strength. Then we decide which channels make the most sense to reach your ideal customers. You don’t need a bigger budget to beat the big guys. You need to think smarter than they do, and that’s exactly what we’re built to do.
Is there anything else exciting you have coming up?
Yes! Keep an eye out for an upcoming Coffee and Contacts event we’re hosting right here at our historic building in downtown Frederick. It’s a great excuse to see the space, meet the team, and connect with fellow Chamber members over a good cup of coffee. Details to come, so stay tuned.
