Tell us Light & Day’s business origin story.Â
About 2003, after losing a corporate position my husband decided he wanted to start his own business. He was disillusioned with the industry he was in and wanted something new. He had a tremendous desire to be self-employed. He wanted a challenge.
We were building a new house and noticed that we did not have many options to shop for lighting. We had an introduction to the lighting industry and the idea started to grow. It seemed there was a need for something other than the big box stores. We found that people wanted a place they could shop and receive good customer service. After much research we decided to open our first gallery in Frederick MD.
What do you like most about being a business owner in Frederick?
Being able to help and connect to people in our community.

We are family owned and operated which in today’s world you do not see too much of anymore. We treat our employees and customers like family!
