A conversation with Jennifer Cuozzo
Tell us Doctor Tint and Details story and how you got started.
My husband Kevin and I are both Frederick natives. We bought our first detailing business the day we came home from our honeymoon a little over 25 years ago. We have loved the freedom of being self-employed and the enjoyment of serving our community. About 20 years ago, we purchased “Doctor Tint” and started offering residential, commercial and automotive window tinting.
Most recently, our daughter and her boyfriend have joined our team as well. This has allowed us to offer additional services such as ceramic coating and paint protection film. We are a “car family.” We love everything car related including helping others with their vehicles.
What do you like most about being a business owner in Frederick?
It is amazing how much Frederick has grown just over the past 10 years! We love being able to interact with customers from 25 years ago. (Yes, we still have a few original customers from that long ago.) But, we also love so many new faces in the area. We are so lucky to be able to share our vehicle passion with the residents of Frederick.
What makes Doctor Tint and Details unique?
There are other great businesses in Frederick that offer some of the same services as us but we are the only shop that offers them all in the same business. Many of our customers will leave their vehicle with us for a week and take advantage of all of the services we offer.
We are a small, family owned business that strives to make customers for life! And we stand behind our work. We have been in the community for over 25 years and plan on being here another 25 + years more. That’s important when many of our services come with a warranty.
Share some of your community involvement efforts
We are always looking for non-profit agencies that want to partner with a “car wash.” We will donate a time frame (typically a week) to that specific charity. The charity will receive a portion of the proceeds from that specific week.
Because of Covid, we gave up our holiday canned food drive for the last few years but we are super excited to be able to offer it again this holiday season. We will offer a discount to any client that brings in canned food and then donate the food at the end of the season to a local food bank.
What is a popular service you offer?
Ceramic coating is by far our most popular service this year. It is a fairly new service that eliminates the need to wax your vehicle and makes it easier to maintain. Customers can’t stop raving about the way their vehicle shines after ceramic coating!
