In honor of Support Your Local Chamber Day, we’re excited to launch our first ever annual membership drive.Â
We are fortunate to be a constantly growing Chamber, but we also know that we aren’t reaching as many businesses as we could at the moment.
Today we’re reaching out to you, our members and best advocates, to help change that and we aren’t the only ones who will benefit!
We have spent the last several years working to make our Chamber something we, as a board and staff, and you as members, can be exceptionally proud of. While we aren’t ones to toot our own horns, our work for you has not gone unrecognized.Â
Just this year, we have won two major awards for the work we do here in Frederick—S.H.E. Week recently garnered a national Best in Show Award and Award of Excellence from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and our very own Rick Weldon, President and CEO, was named named the 2021 Maryland Chamber Executive of the Year by the Maryland Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives—and beyond that, we have grown and enhanced our member benefits in many ways.
Did you know that in 2021 we have:
- Hosted 17 safe in person events and over 25 online seminars, workshops and webinars
- Testified on behalf of our members 22 times before Legislative Committees during the last Maryland General Assembly
- Submitted written testimony on multiple occasions to the Board of Public Works (Gov. Hogan, Comptroller Franchot and Treasurer Nancy Kopp) in support of transportation projects and policy issues important to our members
- Offered testimony on business issues on multiple occasions to both the Mayor and Board of Aldermen and the County Council
- Worked with over 700 local small businesses to help them access federal and state rescue funds through loans and grants
- Added over 100 new members to our ranks since the beginning of 2021
And we want to do more!
Our staff and leadership are committed to continuing this excellence and are focused on growing an even stronger and more supportive Chamber for our business community in the coming year.Â
And we’d love your assistance in helping us reach our goal of adding 25 NEW MEMBERS this month during our membership drive!
How You Can Help Us Reach Our Goal
Our membership drive goal—to gain 25 new members in a month—is an exciting one, and with your support we are certain we can reach, and possibly even exceed it!
So, how can you help us on this mission?Â
Tell all of your professional, business owning and leading friends about why you made the decision to join us and why membership in this organization is both beneficial and important to your current and future business success!
If you’re willing to help us meet this challenge, we’re willing to reward you for your efforts!Â
A Gift for Us is a Gift for You
From October 20, 2021 through November 20, 2021 we are doubling our member referral bonus!
That means, instead of our standard referral bonus of $50, you can earn $100* for each member referral who joins the Chamber during this time and marks you as a referrer.
New members will also recognize a benefit as we will be waving the application fee for new members through November 20th as well!
What Next?
We want to make it as simple as possible for you to share your story and refer new members so we’ve created some shareable content and put together some easy things you can do right now to help you help us!
- You can find some sample emails and social media post ideas to send to friends and business professionals you know here.
- Please be sure to follow and tag us in any social posts you put out about us so we can share our biggest supporters too! You can find us here, here and here!
- Feel free to send people directly to our online join form and encourage them to put you down as a referrer so you can enjoy your double savings!
*Referring members can earn $100 per member that marks them on their application as a reference, up to $360 total.Â
