Founded in 1980 by Peter Plamondon Sr., the family-owned and operated Plamondon Hospitality Partners has been an active and integral part of Frederick’s business community ever since.
Managed today by Peter’s sons, Pete Plamondon Jr. and Jim Plamondon, Plamondon Hospitality Partners has grown its reach and footprint to include numerous hospitality business locations in both the restaurant and hotel industries, including over 1000 employees across five states.
As both well known and active members of the Frederick business community and long-time members of the Frederick County Chamber, Chamber President and CEO Rick Weldon had this to say, “I consider Pete and Jim Plamondon trusted friends in addition to community and employee-centric business executives. This family-operated company remains loyal to their mission and brand, and their success bears that out!”
In this month’s member of the month feature, we share a few things you should know about Plamondon Hospitality Partners.
Member of the Month: Plamondon Hospitality Partners
Plamondon Hospitality Partners is both a franchisee and franchisor.
Not many local businesses find themselves in such a unique position that allows them to operate as both a franchisee and a franchisor.
“One big thing that is unique to the Plamondon Companies is that we are in the hospitality business both in restaurants (Roy Rogers) and in hotels with Marriott and Hilton. We are both a franchisor of Roy Rogers and a franchisee with Marriott and Hilton,” explained Pete Plamondon Jr.
With both business types under their umbrella, Plamondon Hospitality Partners plays an important role in each of the communities they operate within – providing a model and leadership to both local franchise owners and those in the businesses of managing franchisees as well.
They take their commitment to the communities they operate within as seriously as they take their business endeavors.
Plamondon Hospitality Partners extends their hospitality to their communities at large and their leadership team members and employees can be seen volunteering and donating time and funds in each of the communities they call home.
In Frederick, Plamondon has been engaged with many of our local nonprofits and has received numerous awards for the work they’ve done towards making Frederick a better place to work and live.
“We have been deeply involved in the Frederick community since year 1 when our Dad opened his first Roy Rogers on the Golden Mile. Among the many organizations that my father, my brother and I have associated with are the Community Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Council, Mt. St. Marys, Fredericktown Bank, BlueRidge Bank, National Museum of Civil War Medicine, United Way, and St. Johns Catholic Prep among many others. Our executives and hourly associates have been involved in many others, too numerous to mention,” noted Pete Plamondon, Jr.
They value their Chamber membership and consider advocacy as one of the primary benefits.
As Pete Plamondon Jr. expressed, “Being a Chamber member is so beneficial for any business organization so that your company can be educated on what issues face businesses in Frederick County and enlist the support of the chamber to advocate for them from Annapolis to County to City politics. It is also a means to network with other organizations that can help to promote or support your own business. It raises the profile of your own company.”
As Platinum Level members of the Chamber’s Partners in Trust Program, we can attest to their commitment to sustaining the vibrant business atmosphere Frederick has grown into and appreciate their dedication to ensuring Fredrick continues to be a place businesses can find success in.
