How did Perfect Little Bites come to be?

I started Perfect Little Bites in 2010 with the idea of bringing a restaurant experience into peoples’ homes. At the time, I was doing it part time to see if there was even a market for this. I had a background in catering, loved creating interesting dishes, and interacting with people. For a number of reasons, I didn’t want to open a restaurant, so creating my own personal chef business seemed like the right fit. It would allow me to change my menu often (perhaps daily), keep my overhead really low, and I wouldn’t be limited to a specific location. In 2016, I left the job I had been at to pursue this full-time, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

What do you like most about doing business in Frederick?

The people of Frederick really support independent businesses. I’ve also enjoyed getting to know other local business owners, and have been able to collaborate with many of them. It’s such an inclusive and uplifting community to be a part of.

What makes your business unique in the area and/or the industry?

When I started, I don’t think anyone in Frederick had a personal chef business. Today, there are a few people who have them, but most of them offer services like daily meal prep, and only do the occasional dinner. I really wanted people to be able to relax in their home, and feel like they were at a restaurant.
