Release of the New Full-Service Hotel & Conference Center Impact Study

After a decade of discussions, approval and adaptations of the plans, the team working to bring a downtown hotel and conference center to historic Frederick is ready for the next phase in the process. In conjunction with the Plamondon Companies, the downtown hotel team comprised of the Chamber of Commerce, City Economic Development Department, County Office of Economic Development, Downtown Frederick Partnership and Visit Frederick are enthusiastic about the results of the updated economic impact study and the ongoing discussions between the City and County about this critical project.
After unveiling the study results, the Chamber will turn the report over to City and County officials in order to schedule and hold public briefings on the next steps in this process. A downtown full-service hotel with meeting space has been, and remains, the Chamber’s Number 1 civic infrastructure project in downtown Frederick. The largest Chamber member companies have consistently ranked this project as their top priority, and this has been true for well over ten (10) years. Despite civic and political opposition, the team and developer have continued to consistently advocate in favor of this project.
