ACNB Bank was started in 1857 by a small group of community-minded individuals. These farmers, merchants, and individuals knew the importance of access to financial services and resources. And they worked hard to launch an institution that would have the best interest of the community at heart. While much has changed in the world since then, one thing remains the same: ACNB Bank is committed to you. Serving our local communities isn’t just part of our job – it’s who we are.
For over 168 years, we have stood side-by-side with our customers, local businesses, and communities. From first accounts to first homes, from new businesses to next generation owners, we’ve loved celebrating every milestone with our customers.
What do you like most about being a business located in Frederick County?
Every business has a story and as a community bank, we get to see and be part of many amazing local stories. We love that Frederick is a vibrant and unique place to do business. The connections made and support given to one another is truly special. Our team members enjoy giving back by volunteering, serving on boards and committees, and helping support local nonprofits and causes.

Share some of your community involvement efforts!
At ACNB Bank, we’re passionate about giving back to the Frederick County community we call home. Over recent years, we’ve proudly reinvested more than $200,000 locally and volunteered over 19,500 hours – numbers we strive to increase every day! Every year, we host a free community shred day that benefits a Frederick County nonprofit, making it easy for neighbors to safely dispose of documents while supporting a good cause. We’ve also been honored to support incredible organizations like Heartly House, Frederick Rescue Mission, Weinberg Center for the Arts, Mental Health Association of Frederick County, FITCI/Maryland’s Edge, Community Living, and more.
Our team members proudly serve on many boards and committees, including the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, Generation Connect Downtown Frederick Partnership, United Way, Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, Centro Hispano de Frederick, Frederick Arts Council, Women’s Giving Circle, and more.
