Tell us your story!
After earning my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2007, I began my career in a group practice in Howard County where I worked for nine years. In 2015, I relocated my independent practice to Frederick County to bring specialized services closer to my home and my community. Early in my career, I developed specialties in grief and loss, anxiety, and OCD—areas I find especially rewarding and where I believe I can make the greatest impact. I’ve now been in private practice for 18 years, and what continues to drive me is the opportunity to empower young people—to help them build resilience, tolerate discomfort, and learn how to process difficult emotions in healthy ways.
What do you like most about being a business owner in Frederick?
What I love most about being a business owner in Frederick is being part of such a vibrant and supportive business community. I truly enjoy connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, uplifting others, and finding meaningful ways to collaborate on initiatives that strengthen our community.
Why did you join the Chamber?
I joined the Chamber to connect with other local business owners and community leaders who are just as passionate about supporting Frederick as I am. The Chamber offers opportunities to build relationships, stay informed about key local issues, and collaborate on initiatives that make a meaningful impact. Being a member allows me to grow both professionally and personally, while also giving back to the community.

How has being a member of the Chamber benefited your business?
Being a member of the Chamber has helped build credibility and trust with other local businesses, and I’ve formed partnerships that support my growth. Chamber events also help me stay proactive and engaged.
What do you want your business to be known for?
I hope my business is known for delivering high-quality evidence-based mental health services that truly make a difference. My goal is to obtain meaningful results for the children and families I serve. I take pride in being recognized as a trusted go-to resource in our community for all child psychology needs—a place where families, schools, and healthcare providers feel confident referring people in need of expert, compassionate care. I am also known for my responsive client communication and for providing thoughtful referrals when clients’ needs fall outside my areas of specialty.

Share some of your community involvement efforts!
In addition to running a busy private practice, I’m actively involved in several community organizations. I’m a proud member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and serve on the Board of Directors for Frederick Health Hospice. I also volunteer as the ‘camp psychologist’ for all Camp Jamie day and overnight camps, a program through Frederick Health Hospice that supports grieving children. My past involvement includes serving as the mental health liaison for the Frederick County Board of Health, participating as a core mentor with Woman to Woman Mentoring, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Frederick County.
Do you have any exciting promotions or interesting events coming up?
This past May, I had the opportunity to co-lead a community-wide mental health campaign—The Real Change Initiative—alongside three other local mental health professionals in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. We’re now exploring ways to expand the initiative to continue providing education and advocacy around accessing evidence-based care from qualified licensed mental health providers. Stay tuned! I am celebrating the 10-year anniversary of my Frederick practice this month and will host a Ribbon-Cutting/Champagne Celebration on October 8th at 4PM!
