Tell us your origin story!

Founded in 1893 in Frederick, Maryland, Hood College is an independent, liberal arts college.

What do you like most about being located in Frederick County?

Hood works cooperatively and strategically with its many partners to augment student learning and enhance the quality of life in the region and beyond. Students work with our career center staff to secure volunteer positions, internships and permanent employment with our more than 600 partner organizations in government, private and nonprofit industries throughout the region.

 

What makes Hood College unique?

We’re training a workforce that can tackle problems that may not even exist yet. And when our graduates enter their internships and careers, they’ll have years of hands-on experience from Hood’s resources to aid and inform their processes for years to come.

What do you wish people knew about Hood College?

We are no longer an all-women’s college and we have a vibrant and diverse graduate school!

 

How can the community support you?

Host students for internships at your business and attend cultural events on campus!

 

What do you do best?

Connection is key. Faculty and student relationships are the basis and backbone of Hood’s thriving community. Here, our students are known, supported and understood on a level that elevates them closer to a future of success.
