Woman to Woman Mentoring is a non profit that provides mentoring for adult women who live, work, and go to school in Frederick County. We provide one-on-one and peer mentoring through three different programs, including our CORE Mentoring Program, Mentoring Circles, and Women in STEM Program that covers Carroll County as well.

Tell us your story!
Woman to Woman Mentoring began in 2004, following a Needs Assessment Survey conducted by the Frederick County Commission for Women (FCCFW). The survey identified “mentoring” as a critical unmet need for women in Frederick County. In response, we launched our first mentoring cohort in 2009, creating a supportive community where women could connect, grow, and thrive.
In 2015, we became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since then, we have expanded our reach and impact, offering three distinct programs designed to empower and support women ages 18 and older throughout the community. Through meaningful relationship building and community connection, we continue to uplift women as they navigate their personal, professional, or educational journeys.
What do you like most about being a business in Frederick?
The thing we love most about being a non profit serving the Frederick area is the wonderful and diverse women that have joined our mentoring family. We create a safe space for women to discuss challenges, set goals, and grow to their full potential and love hearing the impact mentoring makes on every person from mentee to mentor. Another thing we love about being a part of this community is the support that we consistently receive in Frederick. Our partners help us continue our mission of support and guidance and that is what makes all of this possible.
Why did you join the Chamber?
We joined the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce to deepen our connection with the vibrant community of women who live and work in the area. Recognizing the importance of visibility, we wanted to ensure that more women could access the support our programs offer—support that meets them exactly where they are in their personal, professional, or education journey. The Chamber also hosts a variety of events that allows people in Frederick to connect with each other as well.
How has being a member of the Chamber benefited your Woman to Woman Mentoring?
Through the Chamber, we’ve been able to reach and serve a wide range of women, including employees, business owners, nonprofit leaders, and nonprofit staff—many of whom are active Chamber members. This partnership has been incredibly valuable, helping us grow our impact while fostering meaningful relationships within the local business and nonprofit sectors. We’re proud of the collaboration and grateful for the opportunities it continues to provide.
What do you want Woman to Woman Mentoring to be known for?
We want Woman to Woman Mentoring to be known as a safe space where women can gain support, community connection, and guidance in any life transition they may be going through.
What ways can people in the community support you?
At Woman to Woman Mentoring, we believe in the power of shared experiences. Our mentors come from all walks of life, and each one brings a unique perspective that can inspire, support, and uplift another woman. You don’t need to have a “perfect” journey—just a willingness to share yours and be present for someone else on theirs. Right now, we’re looking for volunteers to join our mentor pool and help shape the next chapter in a young woman’s life.
If you’re looking for a unique way to make a bigger impact, consider becoming an event or program sponsor. Our attainable sponsorship packages offer an incredible opportunity to support mentoring cohorts or one-time events such as our signature fundraising event, Clutch the Future or an alumnae event, such as our Women in Leadership panel. These events bring phenomenal women together to support, motivate, and inspire their growth in the Frederick community. As a sponsor, you’re not just investing in an event—you’re helping to create powerful, lasting experiences for the women we serve.
Whether you become a mentor, make a donation, sponsor an event, or simply spread the word, you are a vital part of our mission.
Do you have any exciting promotions or interesting events coming up?
This year, we’re proud to be celebrating 10 years as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization! We’ve come a long way since our early days, and we’re excited to celebrate not just our history, but the future we’re building—together.
To mark this milestone, we’re launching our “10 for 10” Summer Campaign—and we want you to be part of it.
There are so many meaningful ways to get involved. You can become a monthly donor, giving just $10 a month to help fuel the future of a woman in Frederick. This ongoing support makes it possible for us to offer transformative mentoring experiences year-round. You can also share this campaign with 10 friends, helping us grow our community of supporters and expand our reach.
Our goal this summer is $10,000 to continue providing mentorship, guidance, and support to women throughout Frederick County. With your help, we can do it.
