During Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14th to 20th), the Women in Business Committee is not just encouraging acts of kindness in Frederick County – we’re hosting a networking mixer and donation drive focusing on it!

Tuesday, February 20, 2024 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM | RAK Brewing, 400 Sagner Avenue Suite 100, Frederick, MD 21701

The beneficiary of this Be Kind Frederick donation drive is the Living Water Shower Ministry, an organization dedicated to providing not only warm showers but also the restoration of dignity to the Frederick County population currently facing homelessness. Donations will play a crucial role in supporting their innovative new mobile shower unit.

  • Washcloths
  • Shower shoes | Flip flops [sizes, S,M,L]
  • Laundry detergent [unscented]
  • Bleach
  • Windex
  • All-purpose bathroom cleaner
  • Large volume liquid shampoo/conditioner/body wash
  • Ethnic hair care products
  • Small-size hand sanitizers
  • Socks
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Dry shampoo
  • Deodorant

Bring your donations and enjoy an evening filled with connection and kindness. Spread the word and invite your network – colleagues, friends, and family. Members and nonmembers are welcome! The cost of admission includes a drink ticket and refreshments. Drop off donations will also be accepted at the door.

30 Random Acts of Kindness You Can Do!

As business leaders and community members, there is no better time than now to embrace the concept of kindness. We encourage you to get your entire organization involved in Random Acts of Kindness Week! Below are some ideas to get you started!

  1. Smile at a stranger.
  2. Say “thank you” to someone who serves you (cashier, waiter, etc.).
  3. Hold the door open for the person behind you.
  4. Compliment a colleague or classmate.
  5. Leave a positive note in a public place (e.g., library book, restroom mirror).
  6. Let someone go ahead of you in line.
  7. Send a kind text message to a friend or family member.
  8. Share your umbrella with someone on a rainy day.
  9. Offer to help a neighbor with a small task.
  10. Give someone a genuine compliment.
  11. Bring in treats or snacks to share at work or school.
  12. Offer to return a shopping cart for someone.
  13. Send a supportive message to someone going through a tough time.
  14. Water your neighbor’s plants while they’re away.
