In 1965, Chief Accountant for Frederick County, Don Linton, laid the foundation for LSWG when he acquired Lloyd Fogle’s bookkeeping practice and was joined by its dedicated staff, including Ron Shafer. Little did Don & Ron know that these modest beginnings would mark the start of a journey that has continued for over half of a century and counting.
Reflecting on LSWG’s history, Don Linton emphasized in a 2014 interview with The Frederick News Post that adaptability and flexibility were vital to the business’s sustained growth. Holding steadfast to core values, such as hiring the best talent, respecting work-life balance, and fostering continuous skill development is what has set LSWG apart.

Share some of your community involvement efforts.
We regularly sponsor and volunteer at community events, including Walk-A-Mile, Stuff the Bus, Girls On The Run, Alive at Five, Tour de Frederick, Second Chance Garage Road Rally, and the FCC Golf Tournament. This year, several of our team members volunteered at Comfort Cases in Rockville, and they are already looking forward to returning.
Several LSWG team members and principals serve on the boards of various organizations, including Generation Connect, The Rotary Club, The Community Foundation, FCC, and many more.
