A conversation with Patti Maluchnik, Account Executive
Tell us your story and how you got started with Georgetown Insurance Service.
I am originally from Cumberland, MD where my father had a large insurance agency with multiple offices throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. I was living in Florida working in the life and health insurance field, when he purchased an agency in Washington DC. He offered me a job there as a personal lines service representative. I accepted as I wanted to move back to MD.
After 4 years there, I was offered a Commercials Lines (Property & Casualty) job which was way more interesting and challenging in Rockville. After 3 years that agency was sold to a company in Virginia. Not wanting to cross the Potomac, Aetna Insurance introduced me to Georgetown Insurance! That was in 1993 and I’m still here!!
What do you like most about doing business in Frederick?
There are a lot of mosts, but I guess what sticks out are the people. I work with so many great people both professionally and personally who are so dynamic and innovative in their business and their community involvement that you can’t help but feed off their enthusiasm to get involved and do great things in and for Frederick!
Why did you join the Chamber?
Great group of people who are eager to help the business community. Through their numerous events, government relations, and connections to numerous community leaders, you know they are helping businesses grow and stay on top of what is happening in our county.
How has being a member of the Chamber benefited your business?
Being able to refer clients to other businesses in our community has increased the trusted relationships I have built with my clients.

Share some of your community involvement efforts.
I am a 2019 graduate of Leadership Frederick County, founding member of Key City Rotary Club, a Trustee of The Community Foundation of Frederick, and a Board Member of the Frederick County Workforce Development.
