The Temple is an educational institution that offers preparation and education for the Maryland Barbering & Cosmetology Licensure. They are housed in a 15,000 square foot, 100 year old Masonic Temple in the heart of Downtown Frederick.

Tell us about how The Temple got started.
The Temple a Paul Mitchell Partner School opened in March of 2005 and this year is excited to celebrate 17 years of business. As one of the largest historic buildings in downtown Frederick, we preserved the historic aspect at the same time delivering a modern education in the doors. Over the years we have graduated over 2,000 + Barbers, Cosmetologist professionals that work, locally, nationally, and even globally! The shortage and lack of quality of Beauty Professionals is why we choose to open our doors partnering with Paul Mitchell.
What do you like most about being a business in Frederick?
The sense of community and all of the businesses as well services that are offered to our team & future professionals. We are more than just education, our discounted hair services make it great for someone on a budget or that has a love for supporting students in their educational field.

We give back A LOT!!! Free hair service for over 50+ non-profit organizations, such as SHIP, Frederick County Public Schools, Frederick Rescue Mission, etc. We have partnered with Ebeauty & The Frederick Health James Stockman Cancer Center providing free wigs to cancer patients, as well sponsor an exam room. Beautification projects such as Flowers over Frederick and Holiday Tree Light Campaign. We’re a supporter of the Downtown Frederick Partnership. The annual Paul Mitchell Schools Fundraiser that since opening has raised over $500,000+ for organizations such as Mental Health Association, Gary Sinise Foundation, Food for Africa, Children’s Miracle Network, The Thirst Project, and many others.

Offer an education that prepares you for the State Board while learning the modern skill to succeed in the Beauty Industry.
