S.H.E. Pitch, now in its second year, is a unique pitch competition for female entrepreneurs in Frederick County designed to give businesses both in the “idea stage” and “growth stage” cash prizes, publicity and networking opportunities.
Implemented in 2021, S.H.E. Pitch is an integral part of The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce’s S.H.E. Week, a week of events celebrating the Strength, Heart and Equality of women. S.H.E. Pitch had 50 competition entries in its debut year, far exceeding all expectations! Ultimately, six finalists earned the opportunity to present live in front of judges as well as an in-person and virtual audience.
S.H.E. Pitch is more than a competition, it’s also a learning opportunity! All S.H.E. Pitch participants, regardless of how far they progress in the competition, will get access to, and learn from Pitch Creator. In this course, entrepreneurs will learn how to create the three types of investor pitches they will need to be successful when fundraising for their business (Elevator Pitch, Read Me Pitch and Listen to Me Pitch).
Applications for S.H.E. Pitch are being accepted now through May 2nd. Don’t wait to apply! Spots will fill quickly and deadlines will approach soon. Finalists will get the opportunity during S.H.E. Week to compete for the final prizes in front of an experienced panel of judges. Full cash prize amounts and resources will be announced closer to the finalist stage of the competition.

Idea-Stage Businesses:
- Must be 51% woman-owned
- Owner must be a resident of Frederick
Growth-Stage Businesses:
- Must be registered and in good standing in the state of Maryland.
- Must be 51% woman-owned.
- Owner must have a business located in Frederick County.
- Must have an established revenue of under $5 million per year and have been in business at least two years.
