COAST Designs offers a menu style option of design services to one and all. They are also proud to showcase local Artisans from our area and the Southeast and offer cool, unique, funky, shabby chic, retro-vintage home decor, jewelry, and furniture in their downtown design studio located at 18 East 2nd Street.

An Interview with owner, Wendy Campbell
Tell us how you began COAST designs.
COAST Designs was established in 2013 in my old hometown of Savannah, Georgia. I began with furniture booths and organically developed a passion for interior design through many moves and fixer uppers.
I took several interior design courses and decided to couple my passion with my business background upon moving to Frederick in 2018. Fun fact, I grew up in Frederick from 3rd through 12th grade a LONG time ago. 90’s anyone?
What do you like most about being a business owner in Frederick?
The thing I enjoy most about being a business owner in Frederick is being a part of the community. My fellow small business owners are so dynamic and inclusive and we all really want Frederick to be progressive and relevant.
Our locals are also incredibly supportive and kind and I have really enjoyed having a place to showcase some of the amazing talent we have in our area. The County has come so far and I feel like our emergence is really just beginning. It’s exciting to be a part of the continued growth.
What makes COAST unique?
While there are many incredible designers in our area, COAST is focused on really making design accessible to everyone. Through our menu of design services, this allows our clients the ability to pick and choose how much assistance they need. My goal is to point them in the right direction with creative ideas and visual design boards that help them see the potential in their space. If they need more help, then I am there to make the vision a reality, but if they just needed a push, then I am there to give them the confidence they need to proceed.
What do you wish people knew about COAST?
I really want COAST to be known as a business that helps people. There is such an intense connection between design and emotion. Your home is the place you begin and end each day and it should be harmonious, inspirational, purposeful, and meaningful. It should inspire you to be happy and achieve great things throughout your day and welcome you home at day’s end with a warm embrace. I want to help create that for my fellow Fredericktonians.
