Meet Beyond Comics
Jon Cohen, the Managing Partner at Beyond Comics, has worked in the field of comic book retail for 41 years.
Twenty-five years ago he opened his first store in Montgomery County and eight years later he opened the Frederick location, quickly turning that store into one of the premiere industry retail shops.
Having been a multiple runner up for the industry’s top Retailer Award (Will Eisner Spirit of Retail Award), Beyond Comics is nationally recognized as a leader and innovator within the comic book retail community.
A passion for what makes comic books a unique and vibrant medium through it’s art and story telling capacity was what interested Jon in comics, but the challenge of bringing an understanding of the enjoyment others can acquire through the medium is what has driven Jon through his many years selling the “entertainment” of comic books.

A Unique Store Among Unique Stores
There are several reason Beyond Comics stands unique not only as a shop in Frederick but in the industry as well.
Simply put, Beyond Comics has one of the largest and fairest priced selections of Comic Book related products to be found almost anywhere, let alone, locally.
“We have, hands down, the best and widest selections of comic books, graphic novels, Pokemon Cards, games, and action figures in the region,” shares Mr. Cohen.
As he’s been an active member of the industry for almost his entire career in the business, Mr. Cohen has established not only professional relationships with other stores, comic publishers, and comic creators, but he has also developed long time friendships with many of them as well.
