5 Reasons You Need to Consider Chamber Membership
Access to Various Resources
Becoming a member of the Chamber has been an easy way to connect with a variety of resources. Participation in the Chamber’s Nonprofit Alliance has offered a connection to other like minded leaders in the community. Free and low cost trainings have offered our staff opportunities to network and grow as professionals without a huge financial investment. With a small staff at SHIP, we are always looking for ways to partner with other organizations to serve the young people we work with. Engaging with the Chamber has connected us with a variety of local businesses and community groups who support our mission. – Melissa Muntz, SHIP of Frederick County
The support through the pandemic was immeasurable on so many levels; the information that we received from financial aid, educational programs, social media, etc. was very helpful! – Judy Cicala, Six East Hair Salon & Spa
Business Community Connection
Joining the Chamber has easily been one of the best decisions we made when first opening up our chiropractic office. It helped us get connected with the local business community and other small business owners as well as making us feel SO WELCOMED to Frederick! Since we’ve continued membership we have made more valuable connections that help us run our business effectively, made personal connections for our other needs, and have met some of our current patients. The Chamber has allowed us to connect and belong in the community and we couldn’t be more grateful! – Dr. Adam & Brooks Smith, Restoration Family Chiropractic
It has allowed Six East team to get to know other owners and their associates in the Frederick community, and allowed individuals in the Chamber network of businesses to get to know us! The support through the pandemic was immeasurable on so many levels; the information that we received from financial aid, educational programs, social media, etc. was very helpful! – Judy Cicala, Six East Hair Salon & Spa
Opportunity to Grow Your Personal Social Circle
We joined the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce in January 2007 when we opened our doors in the early days of what would come to be known as “the Great Recession.”
I had been a chamber member in a previous business, so we joined again to learn more about other local business, and to let them know about Little Sparkie Electric. Members had known me as a CPA – so I needed to reintroduce myself and husband, John, as electricians.
We really value the resources and referrals Chamber members provide to one another, and we believe our membership has been a key part of our growth these past 14 years. As the saying goes “a rising tide lifts all boats.” The numerous networking opportunities the Chamber provides means that everybody wins and that is how I like to do life!
We also appreciate our Chamber membership because of all the interesting people we’ve met and learning about the fascinating walks of life other businesspeople are pursuing.
Additionally, the social aspect is important because the Chamber certainly isn’t all about business. Being a “people person,” I’ve made many friends with Chamber members I’ve met through the years.
I highly recommend membership in the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce to everyone who does business in the county! – Catherine Nazarene, Little Sparkie Electric
Leadership Development
There are so many positives about being a Chamber member, I don’t really know where to begin. They are there whenever I have questions about business issues in our community. I am able to meet and make deep connections with a wide diversity of people from small, medium, and large businesses and non-profits. Through the LFC class in 2004 and LFC alum events I have a deeper and more well-rounded understanding of our history, our government, education, development, healthcare, and so much more. This has greatly informed, in a positive way, my personal understanding and involvement in our county, and how we do business as a company. We are members of other chambers in the State, and I have been a member of many different area chambers over the years. I can say, unequivocally, that this is the best chamber there is. I would recommend membership for anyone doing business of any kind in Frederick County. – Jon-Mikel Bailey, Wellspring Digital
When disaster strikes in the community or even in your business, you’ll appreciate the support a Chamber of Commerce can provide. I encourage every business to join the Frederick Chamber. – Karen Kalantzis, Maryland Women’s Business Center
Advocacy and Community Involvement
I have found the Chamber to be an invaluable resource for the work that I do as a business counselor at the Maryland Women’s Business Center. Through their connections and knowledge of the Frederick area, I have been able to provide a higher level of support to our clients. Furthermore, I can rest a little easier knowing that the entire Chamber staff is doing their best to represent the interests of all small business owners to our elected officials.
Beyond my personal reasons for being a member, an active Chamber is good for the community. I was told that businesses that were affiliated with a business group such as a Chamber fared better during the pandemic. When disaster strikes in the community or even in your business, you’ll appreciate the support a Chamber of Commerce can provide. I encourage every business to join the Frederick Chamber. – Karen Kalantzis, Maryland Women’s Business Center
