Meet Rebecca LaChance Artistic Portraits in Frederick County
Rebecca LaChance Artistic Portraits isn’t your everyday family photography studio. Tell us about what you do and how it’s unique.
Rebecca LaChance Artistic Portraits is known for creating elegant portraits that incorporate artistry in a unique way. Your portrait experience can be transformative. Clients share how their portraits have opened them to new adventures, new accolades and new understandings of their own talents and strengths. We are thrilled to advance your wisdom and talents through portraiture.
Commissioning a Fine Art photographic portrait with Rebecca LaChance Artistic Portraits is unique because of the time required for the creative planning process. The entire process can take 1-3 months.
Together, we create the portrait that celebrates the “Art of You.” Those portraits are filled with emotion and actually provide a space of love and contemplation in the clients’ homes. Clients enjoy the exceptional team that provides a relaxed and fun experience. And those clients love their fine art portraits created just for them which are printed/constructed by Italian craftsmen.
How did you get started in fine art photography?
After long careers in health care, I learned to paint. Over time, my painting morphed into photography. I specialized in landscapes and night photography (thanks to insomnia). Eventually, I was invited to Yorkshire, England to do a photography session based on the book “Wuthering Heights”. That experience was the step that led to opening a portrait photography studio in Thurmont.
Why do you love photographing women?
My mission is to awaken/celebrate the bold woman inside every woman through the portrait experience. I use portraits as a canvas to expand your beliefs about yourself, your gifts, inner beauty and strengths. Your strengths are a work of art. I believe you deserve to be seen for the bold woman you are. Sometimes you’re seeing your boldness and strengths for the first time! I’m also on a mission to create remarkable experiences for you as well. My fine art style and compassionate approach have distinguished me as the photographer for bold women who want exceptional images.
What exciting things does Rebecca LaChance Artistic Portraits have going on in 2021?
The Bold Women campaign continues with the goal of creating portraits for 50 women over 50. Also, my online course “PhotoStories of the Heart” is scheduled for a return in 2021. It’s an excellent course for those learning how the technology of their cameras combines with their hearts to produce beautiful photographs. And, I look forward to the continuation of the quarterly Creatives Luncheon. Creatives gather for an informal luncheon and learn from local experts in a variety of knowledge areas. The luncheons took a hiatus during 2020 and I look forward to meeting and sharing with fellow creative persons again.
