What do you like most about being a part of the Frederick community?

The Y loves the Frederick community and the Frederick people. It’s our members who make the Y a special place. Their goals, their accomplishments, the kindness and support they show one another…that’s the essence of the Y. That essence makes people feel comfortable, valued, and at home at the Y. That essence makes people say, “This is My Y.”

What makes the Y so unique?

As a cause-driven organization, the Y can strengthen communities because of our dedicated youth, families, and individuals who share our passion. They give of their time, resources, and talents because they know they can improve others’ lives while enhancing their own through the Y.

How can Frederick support the YMCA and their mission?

There are a couple of ways the community can support the YMCA:

  • First and foremost, would be to join the YMCA! The Y opens opportunities for all to improve their well-being from youth sports to fitness to yoga; there are options for every level and every body.
  • Second, sign up for one of our programs. There truly is something for everyone, from swim lessons to adult tap dancing and martial arts to racquetball.
  • Third, become a YMCA volunteer. From coaching youth sports to reading stories for child care or being a brand ambassador at community events, the Y could use your helping hand.
  • Finally, donate. Many people don’t realize the YMCA is a non-profit organization. We provide nearly half a million dollars in financial assistance for membership, child care, camps, and more! When you support the Y, you help provide young people a chance at a brighter future, inspire healthy lifestyles, and build vibrant communities right where you live!

The Y is a nonprofit like no other. Be a member of something special!
