Advocacy is a significant part of our value proposition. We work hard on your behalf to stay on top of policy changes and issues that may impact our members. But the truest form of advocacy is a full-contact sport, and requires each of us to exercise our voting franchise.
Election Day 2020 is November 3, 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic changes our traditional approach to voting, as many may not feel comfortable in cueing up in line in order to vote on Election Day. Others feel VERY strongly that they want to cast their votes in person using an official voting machine in a polling place.
Registration Information
If you’re not registered to vote, it won’t matter which format you’ll use.
Follow this link to verify that you’re registered to vote: Frederick Voter Registration Status
Mail-in Voting/Absentee Ballots
If you’re not going to be in town on November 3, or if you don’t feel comfortable voting in person, you can request an mail-in/absentee ballot and vote by mail.

Early Voting
A few years ago, the Maryland General Assembly enabled early voting. Early voting begins on October 26, 2020, and runs until November 2. The locations and number of early voting locations differs from Election Day, so check here for information on early voting: Maryland Early Voting
Election Day In-Person Voting
Some of us just want to be able to cast our votes in the traditional manner, despite COVID-19 destroying all of our traditions. If you’d prefer to cast your vote on Election Day (11/3/2020), here’s the link for information on precincts and locations: Maryland Election Day Info
Who are the candidates on my ballot?
This is a Presidential Election cycle, so we’ll be voting for President/Vice President along with our Congressional Representative. Our ballots will also include judicial candidates as well as local offices like the Frederick County Board of Education. You can find all of the candidates at this link: Maryland Candidate Info
I cannot overemphasize the importance of making your voice heard through your voting franchise. Throughout our Nation’s history, voters have protested, fought and even died to defend their right to vote.
