As Michael explained, “We would not be here without the team I surround myself with. I love helping businesses find ways to improve their business and that is what we get to do every day!”
Their years of experience combined with their well trained and attentive staff allow them to provide their clients with unmatched service, knowledge, and support with all of their POS and related needs.
You can find ESS systems in over 20,000 restaurants.
Though their business includes a variety of retail partners, ESS is a well known name among the restaurant industry. They work with chains such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Taco Bell, as well as with many local favorites like The Cellar Door in downtown Frederick, “We love working with local clients and we definitely can save them time and money when it comes to their Point of Sale equipment.”
In today’s world, where food delivery and pickup have become the norm, ESS has several options to help local restaurants streamline their process, “For instance, delivery services, such as Uber Eats and Doordash are quite popular today. We have a solution that can streamline the orders into the restaurant’s POS vs. the restaurant having to manage several tablets and missing orders that can cost them money,” explained Michael.
ESS is unique in their industry.
Not wanting to have to look for help outside, in the early 90s, Jason Thompson decided the business needed to launch their own in-house repair service. This allows them to troubleshoot and repair hardware for their clients, eliminating the need for them to locate and secure outside help when something goes wrong.
In addition to installing, maintaining, and repairing systems for clients, Michael and Jason recently developed their own piece of POS software called, EdgeServ POS. You will soon see it in use at locations right here in Frederick.
The Logo Shack is their sister company.
The Logo Shack was launched in 2010 and is also owned and operated by Michael and Jason. The business creates promotional materials for other businesses and organizations in and around the Frederick area.
They love Frederick.
As Michael shared, Frederick is a part of who ESS is, “We decided to open in Frederick County because the city and county are business-friendly and there is a sense of community here. It is like working in a small town, yet you have the support of a big city! There is no other place we’d rather be. In fact, my great grandparents started their businesses right here in Frederick, one on Market St. for 40 years and one is still running today, celebrating 100 years this year, Reliable Recycling.”
He summed things up nicely with this, “When you are a part of Frederick everyone seems to want to see you succeed, that’s what we love the most; the drive and the fight for staying strong no matter what we are up against,” which is exactly how we feel about the business community in Frederick.
