Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs
We prevent and alleviate the effects of poverty and emergency needs in Frederick County. We provide security deposit assistance, eviction prevention, fuel and prescription funds, as well as other services. We also host the county’s largest adult-shelter: the Alan P. Linton, Jr., Emergency Shelter, as well as an Emergency Family Shelter. We help with Christmas presidents during the holidays to make sure no one has to choose between bills or presents for their children.

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. HFHFC is best known for home builds. We partner with families who seek the strength, stability and self-reliance of affordable home ownership. In addition, the Habitat Home Repair Program provides subsidized maintenance, home repairs, and aging-in-place modifications for lower income homeowners, so they can continue to live there safely. HFHFC collaborates with senior services, churches, veterans organizations, HOAs, and others to uplift communities with home repairs, neighborhood revitalization efforts, and other services, as requested by local homeowners.
How you can help: Local businesses and citizens can ensure that more local residents will experience the gift of home in 2020 by making a year-end donation to Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County. Please also consider becoming a monthly donor, which provides stability for Habitat’s vital build and repair programs. However, your time can be a gift, along with your treasure! Consider volunteering at the Habitat ReStore or on a job site as Habitat home repair projects operate year-round!
Wish list: Do you have an affordable office space in Frederick for 12 employees? HFHFC will be moving by April 2020. Additional storage space for tools and equipment would be a bonus. HFHFC volunteer teams often repair or replace siding. An aluminum pump jack scaffolding system for installing exterior siding would make this work much easier. Naturally, they use a lot of paint, nails, lumber, and other building materials… so gift cards for Lowe’s or Home Depot are always helpful. If you are more inclined to provide a caring touch, their volunteers always need lunches and snacks. These can be homemade or carry out. Your gifts help make the cost of home affordable to all. Thank you.
