Things to Do in Frederick: October 26, 2019
Downtown Frederick Halloween
Great for families and kids of all ages. Costumes are encouraged, though not required. You can paint your own pumpkin, stop by a craft station, and trick-or-treat at more than 50 downtown businesses while supplies last!
Victorian America and The Golden Age of Magic and Spirits of the Dead
Please join professional illusionist Michael Cantori on Saturday October 26 at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine for a fascinating journey through the religion of Spiritualism and its’ affiliation with theatrical magic in 19th and early 20th century America. From the mysterious spirit rappings of the Fox Sisters, to the Davenport Brothers Spirit cabinet, to Houdini’s frustration with the movement, Cantori will offer both lecture and performance.
Matilda the Musical
Other Voices Theatre presents Matilda the Musical, the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Frederick Goes… 70s
Join us in your best 70s attire for an evening of food, trivia, prizes, and more! The event will take place from 6-10 p.m. at the Clarion Inn. All proceeds benefit Community Living, a nonprofit in Frederick that supports people who have Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Not-So-Scary Family Halloween Party
Adventure Park USA will be transformed into a wickedly fun park for happy haunts on October 26th for our annual Not-So-Scary Family Halloween Party. Family-favorite characters will wander the park meeting guests and taking pictures. Guests are welcome to dress up in their best costumes for this “not-so-scary” occasion. All-inclusive tickets will be available including a light meal, attractions and video games.

Fall Open House
Fall Open House: Sunday, October 27th, from 1-3p.m. Prospective parents are invited to visit St. John’s and tour the Pre-K through 8th grade classrooms. Come and see first hand why our National Blue Ribbon and S.T.E.M, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school offers the best Catholic school education in the area. Howl’oween in Baker Park
Preregistration is encouraged at www.activityreg.com or call 301-600-1492. Onsite registration begins at 12:30pm.
Dog Parade and Costume Contest – judging categories – pet/owner, large breed (25 lbs and up) & small breed (24 lbs and under). All dogs must be up to date with shots and on a leash at all times!! Parade will start at 1pm around Baker Park and end at the band shell where the winners of the costume contest will be announced. Prizes awarded in each category!! Local pet services and information on pet adoptions will be available during the event.

Enjoy safe trick or treating, lots of vendors, and appearances by KEY 103 and 106.9 The Eagle!
When entering the mall, please move in a counter-clockwise direction, making sure to visit all the stores! Come dressed in costume or as yourself!

You’re a member, so what now?? This orientation will help explain what your membership is all about and answer all the questions that you might have. Whether you are a new member to the Chamber or new to your company, this event is for you! We like to call it “Chamber 101” as we will explain the benefits of membership and you’ll learn how you can get involved in the many programs, events, and opportunities available through the Chamber.
A fun and fast-paced orientation program will begin promptly at 2:45 p.m. with a group photo* and networking opportunities!
