Camp Jamie
Camp Jamie is a special opportunity for grieving children and adolescents to come together to talk about their feelings related to a death of someone special, and learn coping skills for dealing with those feelings. Camp Jamie is held two times per year. Our weekend sleepover camp is held in the spring. Our NEW one day camp is held in the fall. Each camp provides unique opportunities to express and communicate grief in a healthy and safe environment.

The Addams Family Pop-Up Bar
We’re painting the town black for an Addams Family Pop-Up Bar! The Hootch & Banter upstairs Lounge will be transformed into the family mansion with kooky decor, a photo booth, costumed bartenders, and themed cocktails and menu items. Bridges to Sustainable Communities Symposium
Join us for a day of learning how “Bridges to Sustainable Communities” concepts support every sector to build systemic change, strengthen individuals and communities, and enhance your local organization – education, law enforcement, health care, faith families, government, non-profit and social services can collectively benefit from bringing everyone to the table to create solutions to poverty. The day will include hearing from the keynote speaker, “Bridges to Sustainable Communities” author and international consultant on poverty and community issues, Philip DeVol, and sharing in two panel discussions with those who have successfully implemented the Bridges Out of Poverty concepts to strengthen their communities. Tickets are $30. Registrants will receive a copy of Philip DeVol’s book, a continental breakfast & lunch voucher for Patriot Dining Hall at The Mount. The first 100 to register will receive a VIP SWAG Bag! Free parking in Mount St. Mary’s University Lots 8 & 10. Learning Outcomes: Learn to apply the Bridges Out of Poverty framework to create sustainable communities Have a clear understanding of how the Getting Ahead curriculum’s philosophy and process promotes self-actualization and self-efficacy for graduates Understand how the Bridges Out of Poverty framework can be adapted to empower all sectors to collaborate in building communities where everyone can live well.
Grant Writing: Making Sense of the Evaluation Section
This is a Pay-What-You-Can training event ! This workshop will help you understand and address the evaluation section of grant applications! In this interactive and engaging workshop, you will learn program evaluation best-practices and provide valuable takeaways, including: – the evaluation planning process – monitoring and evaluation methods – evaluation strategies for your programs – components of a logic model and how to develop one This workshop is PAY WHAT YOU CAN, with a $20 seat reservation fee (deposit). The fee helps cover the cost of training materials and logistics. You will be asked during the session to pay for the training you receive based its value to you.

This is a Pay-What-You-Can training event! You’ll learn what you need to know about starting a nonprofit BEFORE starting the paperwork! Are you thinking of starting a nonprofit? Ready to get 501(c)(3) status for your program, club or other activity? If so, then this information packed workshop is for you! You will learn: – what you must do before “the paperwork” – who you need on your team…because you cannot do it alone – the state and federal government agencies you will need to file paper with. – the difference between nonprofit, tax-exempt, and 501(c)(3)…they are not the same. – how to select a board of directors – how obtain tax-exempt status – how to plan your first year, and more. Melissa Hathaway, president of Hathaway Global Strategies, LLC, brings a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional perspective to strategic consulting and strategy formulation for public and private sector clients, including former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Her talk, “Cybersecurity: A National Priority,” will discuss cybersecurity risks, policies and best practices that affect organizations across the globe.
