First Saturday

First Saturday means all day activities, late-night shopping and dining, live music on the street, and a free trolley to guide your way! During July First Saturday, celebrate the visual and performing arts in Downtown Frederick with local artists, public art and more.

Creative Outlet: The Delaplaine Arts Center

Bring the kids to this family-friendly event offering drop-in art activities for all ages! Each First Saturday, explore different artists from the United States and all over the world with creative art projects. $2 per artist.

Summer Concert Series at Baker Park

Enjoy local and regional performers at these free concerts in the heart of historical Baker Park! From blues and swing groups to outstanding tribute artists, the concert series has something for everyone. In lieu of admission, canned food and cash donations will be accepted to benefit the Frederick Food Bank. 7-8:30pm.

Whiskey History: A Spirited Summer Series

Held the second Wednesday of each month, and hosted by Heritage Frederick, this series with Frederick County Public Libraries explores the origins of American spirits. After each free lecture, tickets can be purchased to taste locally distilled spirits supplied by Frederick’s very own Tenth Ward Distilling Company. All tasting ticket proceeds benefit Heritage Frederick.

Summerfest Family Theatre: Rolie Polie Guacamole

Rolie Polie Guacamole is a hip “kindie” band from Brooklyn, NY. Their high energy, interactive shows are a mix of funk, rock, and folk music mashed into original tunes about natural living, eating healthy, and staying active. This upbeat, interactive show will be one you will not want to miss. Come join the Rolie Polie Guacamole gang at the Baker Park Bandshell on July 11, 2019.

Coffee and Contacts To-Go

We will be stopping by United Steam Fire Engine Company No. 3 located at 79 S. Market Street Frederick, MD 21701 to check out Frederick’s oldest fire station serving in the same location.  They will be offering tours of their historic fire station and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Fire Service in Frederick County.
